Light rain, snow forecast over isolated places in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 16: Minimum temperature recorded across Kashmir valley was below freezing point even as the meteorological department predicts very light rain, snow or traces over isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a ssub-zero temperature on Wednesday. It was minus 1.0 degrees Celsius below normal. However, the bright sun appears with pleasant weather conditions and the maximum temperature recorded was 14.8 degrees celsius which was 4.9 degrees Celsius above normal during this period of the year.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low temperature of minus 7.0 degrees celsius against the minus 6.8 degrees Celsius recorded the previous night. It was minus 0.2 degrees above normal during this period of the season at the ski resort of Kashmir.
The tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low temperature of minus 4.4 degrees celsius against the minus 4.2 degrees recorded the previous night.
Qazigund on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway recorded temperature at sub-zero against the minus 1.8 degree Celsius, Kokernag recorded a low of minus 1.0 degree Celsius and Kupwara minus 1.3 degrees Celsius recorded on Wednesday.
