Civil Society Rafiabad Comes Together for Majlis to Honor Late Hafeeza Masoodi
SRINAGAR: The Civil Society of Rafiabad, Dangiwacha, recently organized a Majlis E Taaziya at the residence of the late Hafeeza Masoodi, mother of Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Adv Javed Masoodi, and grandmother of Adv Qazi Raashid, Salman Qazi of DD, Er. Suhail, and Er. Syed Tameem. Late Hafeeza Masoodi passed away last Friday, and the Majlis commenced with a recitation of the Quran followed by Awrad e Sharif.
Attendees, including members of the Civil Society, Traders Federations, Transporters, and individuals from various walks of life and religions, gathered to pay heartfelt tributes to Late Hafeeza Masoodi. Speakers reminisced about her significant contributions to education and women's empowerment from the 1950s until her retirement in 1992. Many of her students now hold prominent positions in diverse fields.
Basharat Meraj, Chairman of the RCS, praised Hafeeza Masoodi's dedication to Rafiabad and women's causes. He highlighted her unique request that, after her passing, no non-vegetarian food be cooked for four days, aiming to convey a message to society about the financial burden associated with such practices.
Prof. Ashraf, former principal of GDC Sopore, attested to Hafeeza Masoodi's philanthropic endeavors, acknowledging her lasting impact on the community.
The hall, filled to capacity, witnessed a deeply emotional and tearful gathering during this interfaith session. Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Former ADG Doordarshan, former secretary of the Cultural Academy, and patron of Adbi Markaz Kamraz (AMK), expressed gratitude to everyone for their support during this time of grief and sorrow.
