Principal Secretary attends  felicitation ceremony at GGHS

Bandipora,05 March: A party in honour of the meritorious students was organised in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora today. It was to felicitate the meritorious students of class 10th and 12th for bringing laurels to the institution in recently declared results of The board examination. the first 10 position holders of the school from both the classes were awarded with cash prizes, mementoes and medals. 

 

Principal secretary skill development J&k Dr Asgar Hassan samoon was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by 

District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad and Padma Shree awardee Faisal Ali Dar. The other dignitaries who attended the felicitation ceremony include Joint Director planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora, Dy Chief education officer Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad and Zonal education officer Bandipora Mohammad Syed shah.

 

  

Dr Samoon was all praise for the efforts taken by the school and complimented the principal and the staff for being one of the best schools in the district. He also congratulated and distributed awards to the meritorious students. In his speech, he encouraged the students to work hard and focus on skill-oriented courses. Furthermore, he talked about many dimensions of employment and said that around 10 to 12  lac skilled labours from different parts of the country come to earn their livelihood in Jammu and Kashmir from traditional skills. All this could be an eye-opener for the students and they should be counselled and motivated for opting skill-oriented courses besides academics. He stressed correlating education with skills and employability. He also advised the principal of the school to ensure exposure tours for students to different technical institutions to make them familiarize with technology.

Later, Padmashree awardee Faisal Ali Dar on behalf of the school was felicitated by Dr Samoon along with Dr Owais Ahmad and the principal of the school. His felicitation in the school on this occasion was to celebrate his achievement for being the first person to receive the Padma Shri Award in sports from Bandipora, J Jammu and Kashmir.

Faisal Ali also distributed mementoes to 6  students as a token of love and encouragement. He also announced lifetime membership to the felicitated students in Ali's Sports Academy.

The principal of the school Mohammad Rafiq party presented a vote of thanks and extended his warm wishes to the students and thanked his staff for full cooperation.
