Police arrest militant aide in Sopore

Srinagar, March 8: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in Sopore Township in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
One Ak-56 rifle, a magazine and 30 live cartridges were recovered from him, police said.
Acting on a tip-off about the movement of anti-national elements, a joint team of police, 32 RR and 92 BN CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the Nadihal area of the Baramulla district and was arrested one militant associate.
He was identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani a resident of Check Seri Pattan.
Police have registered a case under the Indian Arms Act in Police Station Panzalla and further investigation has been taken up.
