Social forestry department Bandipora organised plantation drive at Ajas Bandipora

Bandipora 17 Mar:- Department of Social Forestry today organised a plantation driver at Government Secondary School Ajas. Under this campaign, Range Officer Social Forestry Bandipora Bilal Ahmed along with several other employees planted dozens of plants in the premises of Higher Secondary. Principal Higher Secondary, his other staff and Sarpanch of the area Ghulam Nabi Mir were also involved in this campaign. Planting was started by the students. A program on the importance of trees was also held on the occasion. In which students, teachers and range officers of the Department of Social Forestry highlighted the numerous benefits of plants, their importance in human life, the basic role of plants in the development of the country and a nation. The Principal of Higher Secondary agreed that there is a need of the hour and it has become imperative to provide the children with textbooks and continuous information on how to make the environment conducive and better. The range officer, however, pointed out the reasons why the temperature had reached 25 degrees Celsius in the month of March. He said that a severe shortage of plants could also be a factor. He said that the department had set a target of planting 96,000 saplings in the Bandipora district this year. About 80% of the target has been achieved.
