Pulwama, January 28: A delegation of residents from K-Kot, Awantipora, led by BJP District President Pulwama, Mohammad Lateef Bhat, has urged the authorities to allot 25 kanals of state land for the development of a much-needed playground in the area.
The locals identified a state-owned plot near Jama Masjid, under Khasra No. 996, as an ideal location for the recreational facility. Highlighting the absence of sports infrastructure, the delegation stressed the importance of providing spaces to engage and empower the youth through sports and recreational activities.
Mohammad Lateef Bhat promptly raised the matter with the District Development Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, through a formal request. Bhat underscored the necessity of such infrastructure in K-Kot, stating that it would not only benefit the youth but also strengthen community bonds and promote overall well-being.
“We are committed to ensuring the youth have access to essential facilities, and I am hopeful the administration will take swift action to address this demand,” said Bhat.
The proposal has been positively received by the local community, who view the playground as a vital step toward fostering sports culture and enhancing opportunities for the younger generation.
