Jammu, Mar 3: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday hailed the newly presented budget as a historic milestone, marking the first financial plan in over seven years to be introduced by an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the Legislative Assembly, he emphasized that the budget is not just a financial document but a reflection of the hopes and dreams of the people.
"This budget carries immense significance as it has been shaped by the representatives directly elected by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a testament to the power of democracy, where the voices of citizens are once again determining the allocation of resources and development priorities," LG Sinha said.
Highlighting a new approach to governance, he noted that, for the first time, the Chief Minister personally chaired meetings in all twenty districts, engaging directly with elected representatives to understand regional needs and aspirations. He said this participatory process ensures that development is truly people-centric and addresses the unique challenges of every district.
"The budget is a true celebration of democracy, an expression of the expectations of every household and every community. It marks a new era of participatory governance, ensuring that the needs of the common man remain at the core of policymaking," Sinha added.
The Lieutenant Governor described the budget as a moment of renewal and empowerment, where collective efforts are shaping a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that the elected government is committed to ensuring that economic growth and social welfare initiatives align with the aspirations of the people. [KNT]
