Srinagar Police Crack Mosque Burglary Case, 03 Arrested

Srinagar, Feb 05: Srinagar Police have solved a burglary case involving the theft of cash from a mosque donation box in Nishat, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of stolen money.

 

According to an official statement shared with Associated News Bureau on February 2, Police Station Nishat received information about a break-in at a mosque located at Syed Rahman Chowk, where unidentified thieves had forcibly opened the donation box and taken away cash during the intervening night of February 1-2.

 

Following the complaint, an FIR (No. 07/2025) was registered, and an investigation was launched. Using a combination of intelligence inputs and technical evidence, the police swiftly identified and apprehended the suspects.

 

The arrested individuals have been identified as Aamir Rafiq, son of Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh alias Dobhi, a resident of Buchwara Dalgate

 

Mohd Sufyan Bage, son of Mohd Rafiq Bage, originally from Bage Mohalla Uri Baramulla, currently residing in Gulab Mohalla Dalgate

 

Danish Bashir Khan, son of Late Bashir Ahmad Khan, a resident of Buchwara Dalgate, presently living near Sumo Stand Khunmoh

 

It further reads, Police also seized a Swift car (registration number JK04A-5786) used in the commission of the crime. Upon questioning, the accused led investigators to the stolen cash, which has now been recovered.

 

Authorities have assured that further legal proceedings are underway, and the case remains under investigation. (ANB)
