Ten food business operators flouting sanitary, hygiene norms fined in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 19 : In a bid to ensure food safety ahead of Ramadan, the Food Safety team of the Drug and Food Control Organisation conducted an inspection drive at Parimpora Market and Fruit Mandi Parimpora in Srinagar.

  

 Led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar, Yameen Ul Nabi, along with Food Safety Officers Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Hakeem Adil Rashid, the team found 10 food business operators flouting sanitary and hygiene norms. These violators were fined under Section 69 of the Food Safety and Standards Act. 

  

 With the holy month of Ramadan approaching, the department has intensified inspections to ensure the quality of food products, particularly dates, dry fruits, and other essential commodities. Authorities have urged food business operators to uphold strict hygiene standards and comply with food safety regulations to safeguard public health. [KNT]
