Jammu, Mar 3, KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reiterated the government's commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, calling it a major aspiration of the people.
Speaking at the J&K Legislative Assembly in Jammu, Sinha emphasized that addressing this demand remains a priority.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir have a legitimate expectation of full statehood. My government is steadfast in its resolve to fulfill this aspiration," he stated.
The 40-day budget session, currently underway, includes 22 sittings. It marks the second session of the Legislative Assembly since Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory. Additionally, two days have been reserved for Private Members’ resolutions and one day for Private Members’ Bills.
The first session of the Assembly after J&K’s reorganization was held in Srinagar from November 4 to 8, 2024. This budget session is the first in seven years, though now under Union Territory status. [KNT]
