NATIONAL LOK ADALAT CELEBERATED IN BUDGAM.

1182 matters settled amicably, Rs 3.70 Cr realized in settlements.

Highest award of Rs. 37 lacs awarded in one MACT case.

 

Budgam, July 10: Under the insightful directions of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Executive Chairman, JKLSA and radiant guidance of Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik- Chairman DLSA Budgam, Second National Lok Adalat was organized today on 10th of July 2021 in District Budgam.

The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam, at District Court Complex Budgam at 10:30 A.M. Each Court had identified cases for the Lok Adalat beforehand and same were placed before eight (8) different benches constituted by DLSA Budgam for settlement in Lok Adalat.

Briefing the media Secretary DLSA Miss Foiza Paul unfold the curtain raiser of the day’s proceedings and the lok adalat sessions to be held at 8 designated courts across the District under the supervision of Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik ( PDJ Budgam), Mr. Sunil Sangra, additional DG Budgam, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad Bakhshi, Sub Judge Budgam, Mr. Malik Shabir Ahemad CJM, Miss Uzma Ameem JMIC, Miss Tabasum Qadir Parray Subjudge Chadoora, Mr.Mohd Ishtiyaq Allam JMIC Chadoora, Mr. Javaid Ahmad Parray JMIC Beerwah, Miss Danishta Shafi JMIC Magam and Miss Farha JMIC Chareshareef. 

The matters placed before the Benches included Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Matrimonial, Tenancy, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters. However, efforts were made to place oldest cases before the Benches for their settlement as per the directions of Hon’ble Executive Chairman, JK LSA

A total number of 1500 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 1182 matters were settled. Besides, an amount of Rs. 3. 70 crores was realized in toto in the settlement. The settled matters included 20 MACT matters, in which an amount of Rs. 1.03 Crores was awarded as compensation and wherein the highest award of Rs. 37 lacs was awarded in one of the MACT cases.

The National Lok Adalat was concluded after presenting appreciation certificates to the well deserving efforts of officers including SDM Khansahib, AEE Budgam, AEE Narbal, Staff members of Courts and deserving PLV’s of DLSA Budgam
