12-Year-Old Killed, Six Injured in Tral Seminary Fire

Tral, April 6: A devastating fire broke out at a local Islamic seminary in Tral during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, claiming the life of a 12-year-old student and injuring six others.
The deceased, identified as Yasir Bashir, hailed from Kuchmulla village of Tral. He was among several students present inside the Darul Uloom Shah Hamdan, a three-storey religious school, when flames engulfed the building in the middle of the night. The fire caused extensive damage to the structure, triggering panic and prompting a large-scale evacuation effort.
Local sources told that dozens of students were safely rescued, while the six injured suffering from varying degrees of burns were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is reportedly stable.
Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Police have registered a case and initiated further inquiries into the incident. [KNT]
