Srinagar, Feb 07 : Leading pulmonologist Dr. Naveed Nazir Shah on Friday said that the digital revolution is essential, but mobile phone usage must be regulated, especially among children and elders.

Talking to media persons in Srinagar, leading pulmonologist of India, Dr. Naveed Nazir Shah said mobile addiction is draining our minds while parents must regulate children's screen time to monitor their mobile activity.

Dr. Naveed said, "I don't think we will come out of this digital revolution. It has become necessary as we see the internet is used for official work, studies, and offices. It has an important role as far as the digital world is concerned, so that is why we can't take it out of our lives."

Dr. Naveed, while stressing the judicious use of mobile phones, said, "We must use it judiciously, as children are surely getting addicted to it. Even our elders, retired employees who are at home, are also getting involved and addicted to mobile phones. We must use it judiciously only as much as we need it," he said.

"It is the era of artificial intelligence. Our mind gets drained; what we need, we get it on AI. We are more and more getting involved in it," he added.

Advising parents to regulate their children's screen time, Dr. Naveed said, "As our children get more addicted to it by different means, especially those under 18 years old, we must monitor their screen time and activity.

We must use parental controls to track children's content-watching activity, as we can link our children's mobile phones with ours, which is also available," he said while advising awareness. (JKNS)
