HT NEWS DESK

Srinagar, Apr 9 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that the inclusion of audio-video recording provisions in the newly introduced criminal laws will significantly improve the quality and reliability of evidence in criminal cases.

According to police officials, the move is aimed at ensuring that evidence remains tamper-proof and is presented in its original form during investigations and trials.

“The use of audio-visual recordings will prevent any kind of alteration, modification, or manipulation of evidence, thereby strengthening the legal process,” a police spokesperson said.

The new laws, which are part of broader criminal justice reforms, emphasize transparency and accuracy, and are expected to play a crucial role in securing convictions and upholding justice. [KNT]
