Security Forces Rescue Mehbooba Mufti’s Escort Team After Vehicle Skids Off Road in Baramulla

Baramulla, Feb 09: Security forces swiftly responded to an accident involving an escort vehicle accompanying the mother of Iltija Mufti, who was traveling with former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti. The incident occurred in Hadipora village, Block Rohama, North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, when the vehicle lost control and skidded off the road.
Personnel from the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR), CRPF, and J&K Police immediately launched a rescue operation, ensuring the safety of those inside the vehicle. Three police personnel sustained minor injuries in the incident.
According to a senior police official, the escort vehicle (Bolero, registration number CH 80395) lost control, resulting in injuries to Head Constable Firdous Ahmad, Selection Grade Constable Mohd Ayaz, and Selection Grade Constable Nisar Ahmad. The vehicle was part of the security convoy accompanying Mehbooba Mufti.
The injured personnel were evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the Army immediately called for a recovery crane to retrieve the skidded vehicle from the accident site.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
