Shopian 7th January 2025:Shopian police, along with a Division forest officer, in a joint operation against illegal timber smuggling, seized a huge quantity of illicit forest timber in the Keller area of Shopian.
Acting on specific information about a consignment of illegally smuggled forest timber in Keller, a police party of Police Station Keller headed by SHO PS Keller along with DFO Shopian raided the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Khanday S/O Gh Ahmad Khanda,y resident of Chowan Keller. During the search, the police were able to recover 40 feet of forest timber.
In this regard, C ase FIR under relevant sections of the BtheNS & Forest Act has been registered in PS Keller. Further Investigation of the case is going on.
