SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 120 grams of contraband Charas-like substance during naka checking at challan Boniyar of North Kashmir's Baramulla district. SSP Baramulla said that Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by DySP Prob Kubra Nazir-JKPS, and SHO PS Boniyar arrested two Drug Peddlers. The two drug peddlers were identified as Wazir Ahmad Joo resident of Trikanjan & Syed Shahid Hussain resident of Gingal. The duo was coming from Chellan towards Boniyar. On reaching Chellan and on seeing the naka party, the duo tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert naka party. During their personal search, 120 grams of Charas-like substance & Cash 10K were recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately. A case under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Boniyar and investigations were set in motion. Meanwhile, the general public of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which is a real sign of Police Public relations. Later on, CEO Kulgam also held a meeting with the Staff of the CEO office and took stock of several important issues.
