#*Secretary JKAACL mourns demise of Hamdam Kashmiri*
Jammu/Srinagar, Dec, 14, 2024:
Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Harvinder Kour, has condoled the demise of noted Urdu poet, Hamdam Kashmiri who passed away on Friday after brief illness.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise of Hamdam, the Secretary JKAACL conveyed her heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
To mourn his demise a condolence meeting was also held at Srinagar based office of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, which was presided over by Academy’s Divisional Head, Kashmir, Syed Shakeel-ur-Rehman.
Among others, I/c Translation Research Centre, Kashmir, Mufti Shafiq, I/c Editor Urdu, Salim Salik, Assistant Editor, Kashmiri, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather and I/c Assistant Editor Urdu, Samiullah Bhat were also present in the condolence meet.
Hamdam first emerged on the literary scene in 1958 and since then he has published two poetry collections of note viz; Dhoop Lahoo Ki (2003) and Warq-e-Saada (2012).
