Baramulla,Mar,10: In a remarkable act of valor and selflessness, the Indian Army once again proved its dedication to humanity by rescuing six individuals from a tragic road accident on NH-701 near Hadipura area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:50 AM when a car carrying six passengers lost control on the rain-soaked highway. The vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into an excavation created due to ongoing road extension work. The impact left one passenger with a critical head injury, while two others suffered serious wounds.
Eyewitnesses and officials confirmed that army personnel, stationed nearby, rushed to the scene without a moment’s hesitation. Braving adverse weather conditions, they worked tirelessly to upright the overturned vehicle and extricate the injured passengers. Without waiting for emergency services, they swiftly arranged for their transportation to a hospital in Baramulla using a civilian vehicle. Meanwhile, the army also alerted the nearest police station, ensuring coordinated assistance.
Locals who witnessed the rescue lauded the army’s swift response, acknowledging that their timely intervention prevented further casualties. “Had it not been for the immediate action of the soldiers, the outcome could have been much worse,” said an eyewitness.
