J&K’s Economy on the Rise, but Challenges Remain: LG Manoj Sinha

Jammu, Mar 3 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday highlighted the notable economic growth Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed in recent years but acknowledged the challenges that remain. Addressing the Legislative Assembly, he emphasized the government's commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development while tackling regional disparities, unemployment, and fiscal stability.
“The economy of Jammu and Kashmir has made significant strides, as reflected in a rising Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), infrastructural improvements, and better socio-economic indicators. However, challenges such as regional imbalances, job creation, and sustainable development require continued attention,” LG Sinha said.
He assured that his government is dedicated to refining the developmental framework to make it more robust, participatory, and balanced. Special emphasis will be placed on economic reforms to strengthen J&K’s fiscal position and create opportunities for all sections of society.
“Our policies will focus on empowering youth, women, and farmers, ensuring that growth is not just limited to certain sectors but benefits every citizen. We are working towards a progressive and inclusive economy, with the welfare of the poor and marginalized at the heart of our governance,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that unity and collective commitment are key to shaping a prosperous future for Jammu and Kashmir, assuring that his administration will continue efforts to build a strong economic foundation while addressing socio-economic challenges. [KNT]
