Kupwara, Feb 24: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kupwara, under the aegis of SKUAST-K, organized a live-streaming event to mark the release of the 19th instalment of the PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme. The event, conducted online, coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official release of the instalment from Bhagalpur, Bihar.
On this occasion, A total of 63 farmers, including progressive farmers and agripreneurs from Kupwara district, participated in the program, reflecting its significance for the local farming community. The scientific staff of KVK Kupwara, including Dr. Shahid Hakeem and Dr. Raies Ahmad, actively engaged with the farmers, providing insights on sustainable agriculture and modern farming practices.
Expressing their gratitude, the farmers thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the timely release of funds, acknowledging that while ₹2,000 may be a modest sum, it remains a valuable financial aid for their agricultural and horticultural activities. They also appreciated KVK Kupwara and SKUAST-K for their continuous efforts in raising awareness and providing scientific guidance to enhance farming productivity.
The event highlighted the government's commitment to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the Kashmir region.
