Look Who’s Talking! BJP After Burying Maharaja’s Legacy, Now Defends Him”

HT NEWS DESK

Jammu, Mar 5 : Jammu-based leader Sunil Dimple lashed out at BJP legislators for creating a ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, accusing them of being the very forces responsible for eroding the Dogra state of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Dimple criticized BJP leaders who claim to represent Jammu and the Dogras, stating that they were the ones who “buried the state of Jammu and Kashmir” established by Maharaja Hari Singh. He alleged that the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, which was originally implemented by the Maharaja, was carried out by the BJP, undermining the region’s historical identity.

“The BJP rejoices when non-local residents enter Jammu and take over land and businesses,” Dimple said, accusing the party of facilitating demographic and economic changes detrimental to local interests.

He questioned that if the BJP showers so much love for Maharaj Hari Singh, then why is this party not implementing the condition of the Instrument of Accession?

Demanding official recognition of Maharaja Hari Singh’s legacy, Dimple called for April 24, the late ruler’s death anniversary, to be declared a state holiday in his honor. [KNT]
