Langate, April,07: An impactful awareness program under the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign was held today at Panchayat Halqa Guloora, organized by the RDD Division Langate in collaboration with the Revenue Department Langate. The event aimed to raise consciousness about the growing threat of drug abuse and the collective responsibility to combat it.
The program saw active participation from health department officials, civil society members, students from various schools, and faculty from the BDO Office Langate, who also hosted the event. The initiative was further strengthened by the presence of distinguished dignitaries including doctors, senior teachers, and officers from Handwara Police.
Tehsildar Langate, Mohd Ismail, was the keynote speaker and delivered a powerful address on the increasing menace of drug addiction. He emphasized the gravity of the issue, stating, “Drug abuse has become a major social concern. Our society is becoming increasingly vulnerable, and it's imperative for parents, teachers, and community leaders to stay vigilant and guide the youth away from this trap.”
The attendees appreciated the initiative, acknowledging the vital role such awareness programs play in educating both youth and adults about social and legal issues surrounding drug abuse.
Civil society members called for the continuation of such programs in the future to strengthen community engagement and awareness, ensuring that preventive measures reach the grassroots level.
The event concluded with a unified pledge to spread awareness and work collectively toward a drug-free and socially responsible society.
