Srinagar, Apr 8 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that three more separatist-leaning groups have officially severed ties with the Hurriyat Conference, calling it a significant step towards peace and integration in Jammu and Kashmir.

Amit Shah named the Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and the Kashmir Freedom Front as the latest organizations to distance themselves from Hurriyat.

"With this, a total of 11 such groups have now disassociated from the separatist fold, reaffirming their belief in the Constitution of India," the Home Minister said in a statement.

He added that this development is a clear reflection of the growing trust of the people of the Valley in India’s democratic framework.

“Modi Ji’s vision of a united and strong Bharat gains even more strength today. This marks another blow to separatist politics and a reaffirmation of the spirit of unity,” Shah remarked. [KNT]
